Lake Syningen, our study area in the water project, is
located in Uppland, eastern Sweden 60 km NE of Stockholm. It is small, 1.15
km² and its average depth is only 1.5 m. The lake is rich in vegetation.
Fields or a thin belt of deciduous forest surrounds the lake in all sides.
